Updated Loot!
For The Wynn was founded on friendly, leading principles. We are a family of players who have come together to socially raid, chat, and have fun. We are not a group of seven-day, fifteen-hour raiders. As our guild description says in game, we are a “laid back”, casual raiding guild.
Our raid teams value loyalty, courtesy and compromise above progression. Raiding in our environment is meant to be a fun shared activity that is as stress-free as possible. This means there is no guarantee of progression. Progression will happen but will require patience from all involved. The best example I can give is this: One of our raid teams spent 3 weeks on one boss. We did not boot anyone from the team who wasn’t learning fast enough, nor did we publicly ‘call out’ anyone for their performance. Although it was at times frustrating, we persevered and in the end everyone improved and we defeated that boss. Rather than focus on the frustration, we focused on why we were raiding in the first place: to have fun and to share that fun with our fellow guildies. We farmed other bosses while we learned the fight; we did other raids to take the edge off progression. In short, we all made an effort to be tolerant of others’ shortcomings, to treat others as we would like to be treated, to be patient while others learned and improved, and found other ways to continue raiding as a group and have fun.
The first rule, and something that is being newly implemented, is the declaration of a main character. To alleviate conflicts and questions with bind on equip items, this is a requirement. Your main character will be defined as soon as possible after the issuance of these rules or once you have accepted membership into the guild. In addition, a main spec will be declared with the character. Declaration will take place on the guild forums under the thread aptly named “Character Declaration” in the General forum. This character and spec will hereafter be referred as to your main-spec.
If raid leadership requests of someone to switch from their main-spec to either an off spec or an alternative character, that alternate will have the same priority as a main-spec. That said, if you are constantly asked to switch, your declaration will be changed by leadership. The best guidance is to choose that which you have done for raids in the past most often.
When you come to raids, you will try to have the best gear possible for your class at our present situation. Yes, you will have to run new heroics. Yes, you may have to grind out old trolls. Though we are mindful and caring for all raiders, do not think that you will be carried gearwise. We will accept at a maximum one piece of PVP gear, but it will be weighted when deciding group make up. You must have an average item level of at least 373 equipped for Dragon Soul; at least 359 for Firelands; and 345 for Bastion of Twilight/Blackwing Descent. Your glyphs slots must all be filled with glyphs that pertain to your role.
With the above statement also comes the requirement that your gear not only must be of superior quality, but also have the best additions to it that sanity permits (by this, I am waiving the requirement to have enchants requiring absurdly priced materials). Also, we want to see Cataclysm gems in all your gear. If you are having trouble finding someone in trade or on the AH with these items, do not be afraid to ask guildies! They are here to help (and will usually do it for cheap if not free).
Regarding loot rules for bind on pickup items: main-spec will get first chance to roll. If no main-spec is needed, then off spec will roll. If no off spec is needed, the item will be disenchanted and mats placed in the guild bank.
For bind on equip items: main-spec will be allowed to roll with no cost. If no main-spec is present for which the gear is intended, the item will be retained by raid leadership to be sold at auction. If a guild member is interested in purchasing the item, they can for half cost of the average auction house price or price listed on an online database. If neither exists, cost will be determined by the Guild Master. Money received from the sale will be divided among raid members that week to be used, hopefully, for future upgrades. Because of my number one goal to ensure people are happy and can reap benefits of raiding, I do not want to make gear too unavailable for participants.
Epic gems, should they drop from a boss, will be handled differently than most gear. To prevent waste from occurring, only players who have received a piece of tier out of Dragon Soul will be allowed to roll; furthermore, the winner must use the gem to socket the tier piece. If no players are present that have new tier, or if all the tier pieces present are socketed, then a raid-wide roll will occur to distribute it.
Ranks will be assigned based on raid participation. If you raid, or attempt to raid, with us at least bimonthly (twice a month), you will stay at a Raider rank giving you a subsidy for your repairs. If you stop signing up for raids, or if you often sign up and do not show up, your rank and/or raiding privileges may be revoked at any time. BE SURE TO SIGN UP FOR RAIDS BY THE NIGHT BEFORE HAND AT THE VERY LATEST. It is unfair and disrespectful to your fellow guild members not to notify attendance beforehand. If you are unsure, then simply put tentative.
Everyone will not have a chance to raid every week. Unless we can solidify two feasible groups, this will be the case. Some discretion can be taken into account if we are on a difficult boss fight regarding the more geared of the available players. We will rotate players in so do not feel as though we are leaving you out or discriminating…we have no interest in doing so, and we as a guild benefit nothing from it if we did. Please be sure to attend LFR groups, where we can bring everyone in the guild along with no limits.
The raid leader has the discretion to remove a player for any reason, with or without reason, including: inadequate gear, missing gems, missing enchants, large amount of PVP gear, disrespectful to other raiders (this includes ‘calling out’), or insubordination. Though this will rarely if at all happen, we must account for it to be fair to all. Rules may be added at any time, and an officer or raid leader has the authority to change, amend, or add to these in the event the guild master is not participating.
We look forward to raiding with you in the future.
